Seamanship weekend of boating activities to prepare ourselves for the forthcoming sailing season, and get rid of the winter non-sailing cobwebs!

The weekend will focus on:

1. Anchoring techniques and practice in different situations
2. MOB recovery techniques and practice (including using the RNLI dead weight dummy aka "Dunk")
3. Pontoon approaches and departure practice aka "pontoon bashing", but hopefully less of the bashing!
4. Lifejackets and life rafts (we have a lifejacket to demo inflating, and are looking for an old or out of date life raft to inflate / use)

Starting at the club house Sat morning with a briefing, then sailing and practice activities in and around Portland Harbour.

Sat evening, we will have a group meal out in Weymouth this time, as better restaurant/ meal choices (venue tba) and we will book pontoon berthing alongside the harbour office in Weymouth for those boats that want to tie up overnight conveniently close to the group meal location.

Sunday is an opportunity to continue with boating activities and practice, until everyone has ticked off their pre-season practice list, and if weather good, boats could go to Worbarrow / Mupe for lunch to practice more anchoring.....

Note: This will also be an opportunity to get Newbie crew out on the water, following the speed meeting event in March
