Open Water Swimming(OWS)

Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club

Open Water Swimming is available on Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 10am.

This activity is for members and non-members (£10). An online booking is required via our website. Non members can make their £10 card payment when you arrive at the Club for their swim session.

1. Our Club Manager Rob Richardson is responsible for the management and delivery of these sessions. he can be contacted via email clubmanager@drsc.co.uk
2. Safety is provided using a kayak or paddle board equipped with a radio and whistle and manned by a member of the safety team.
3. The number of participants is limited to 40 participants.­
4. The swim courses is approximately 200 & 400 metres but this will change during the season.
5. Pre-Booking one of the twenty places is essential and can be done via the calendar on the web page.
6. Each swimmer must collect a wrist band from the Club Manager prior to going down to the water.
7. Swimmers must wear a swimming hat (not white, silver or blue) and tow float.
8. Those wearing a wetsuit are not required to wear a tow float.

Once swimmers have completed their swim they must return their wristband to the Club Manager to ensure everyone is checked off after leaving the water.
