Woolverstone Project

This event is part of the Woolverstone Project's 30th Anniversary celebrations. For 30 years we have been offering sailing for people, whatever their disability. All of our boats are specially adapted and we can take anyone sailing. Why not come along and have a go?

We have hoists and slings available to get people from their wheelchairs into boats if required and we will have 'buddies' available to help them learn to sail, or just to take them out on the water.

Programme for the day

The day is open to anyone why not come down with the whole family - and we will be there between 11am and 4pm. The last sailing session will start at 3.30pm.

Equipment

The Woolverstone Project will provide buoyancy aids or lifejackets (as appropriate) for all those sailing, and if necessary, we also have some waterproof jackets and trousers. Our boats generally are very dry and there is no need to get wet while getting into them, but just in case, some spare clothes may be worthwhile to bring.

Other activities

Also available at Alton Water is a range of other activities highland cattle, mini-golf, pedalos, bicycle hire and even canoes and stand-up paddleboards, so why not come and make a day of it?

Onsite café

There is a café available at Alton Water for refreshments, light meals and most importantly ice creams!

Note: Changing facilities and toilets including facilities for people with disabilities are available.
