Cadet Open Meeting 2023

24th - 25 June 2023

South Cerney Sailing Club

The 96 Cadets are excited to once again invite all cadet sailors to the most eagerly anticipated two day cadet event in the south west, in July. The forecast is already in and we can confidently predict occasional whimsy, frequent outbursts of near-incompetence and a scattering of fun. Competitors are directed to check the Existential flag if they are unsure of the prevailing condition. This flag will probably not be flown from the race hut. We currently do not have flags assigned to the BBQ nor the showers.

There is camping available from Friday evening with gates open from 6pm. Competitors are encouraged to bring paddleboards but not invasive species, we have a policy for such things.

Our busy and creative galley, home of the infamous Swan ice cream with Carp surprise, will be open to serve what we have come to describe as 'delicious' breakfasts, lunches and snacks.

An NoR and some SIs will be along shortly, we'll let you know when, unless we don't. Better check in here at some point, but you can largely expect a briefing at 10 am on Saturday, followed by three races with lunch ashore followed by some messing around of some sort which hopefully includes some form of competitive amusement. Something similar on Sunday, all done and dusted after lunch to depart around 2pm.

Some important stuff;

We love our lake and hate waste. Please help us to keep things to a minimum. We've got this event down from 20 bin bags to 2 but it takes a little effort.

We also hate invasive species. Please Check, Clean, Dry.
