After analysing the data from the last 5 UKLA events (being the Nationals in August through to the Inlands last weekend) to increase the numbers of sailors participating in National Training, the UKLA has decided to reduce the 3 out of 5 top 50% requirement to 2 out of 5, still being top 50% for all ILCA 4s and ILCA 6 boys, but widening to top 60% for ILCA 6 girls. This will apply to all National Training sessions over the Winter which are run at WPNSA, commencing this weekend 11/12 November. Booking for this first session will close on the UKLA portal on Wednesday night.
National Training for the ILCA 4s and ILCA 6s will be open to all sailors who have come in the top 50% in at least 3 out of the following 5 recent UKLA events: being the UKLA Nationals at Hayling Island, the three Autumn Qualifiers (Paignton in September and two at WPNSA in October) and the Inlands in Draycote in early November.
Please do not enter until you/your sailor has three top 50% results as per the eligibility criteria.
We encourage sailors to view the National Training as a series of training weekends and attend as many as possible for continuity of coaching. It is intended there will be one weekend a month of National Training, commencing the second weekend of November through to March (TBC).
Sailors can register their interest in National Training on this portal but will only receive a confirmed place once the requisite number of events/results have been completed, as set out above.
Regional Open Training will also be made available over the same 5 month period, which is open to all abilities.
