South Cerney Sailing Club

Welcome to the 2022 South West Ugly Tour event for RS200, sponsored by West Country Boat Repairs.

Saturday 7th May 2022

  • A four-race event.
  • There will be a competitor briefing at 11.15.
  • First race at 12:00, warning signal no earlier than 11.55.
  • Races 1 and 2 back-to-back.
  • Races 3 and 4 back-to-back after lunch.
  • Presentation after the event when the bar will be open.

Booking is requested to allow for best management of the event and will close at midnight on Thursday 5th May. Entry is restricted to 30 boats, so please book early. The facility to enter the event will be available at the club on your arrival for those that miss this date.

The fee is £15.00 to be paid via cashless payment at the club on arrival on 7th May.

Please note all non-sailing visitors to the club must be signed in on the day of the event for insurance purposes.

COVID-19 restrictions

Whilst we wish all competitors a wonderful time. Due to the ongoing issues regarding the Covid-19 situation, we must all follow the following guidelines:

  1. If you feel unwell or believe you have any of the symptoms of COVID -19, please do not visit our site.
  2. We do continue to ask all member and visitors to the club to be vigilant.
  3. we recommend all follow Hands - Face - Space especially when inside or in confined areas.

Prevention of the spread of invasive species

Whilst South Cerney Sailing Club is not aware of any issues with invasive species in our water, we are committed to the prevention of the spread of invasive species and as such we are following the Environment Agency and RYA guidelines "CHECK CLEAN DRY"

Visiting or returning sailors before travelling to SCSC should take all reasonable measures to:

  1. CHECK for plant material and animal species (e.g. shrimp, zebra mussel, weed)
  2. CLEAN wash boats, launching trolleys and kit
  3. DRY for as long as possible before event, at least 2 days recommended.

Please make sure your boat has been clean and dry for at least 2 days prior to your arrival. Your booking onto this event certifies that this is the case. We also recommend that you check and wash your boat before leaving SCSC, facilities are made available for this.
